Here, smell this.

I hate it when people say that. It is usually preceded by the phrase "Ugh! This is disgusting. Smell this." WHY? Why do we do this? Because misery isn't misery until it is shared?

I know one soul who loves it when I say "smell this". It is her God-given talent and she takes it very seriously. "Here Nell, smell this." RIGHT AWAY, MA'AM! I'LL SMELL IT SO HARD IT WON'T KNOW WHAT HIT IT.

It's when I say, "Here Nell, let me put this on your head and then take your picture and post it in the interwebz" that she gets a little testy. *sigh*

On the other side of the lens

A revealing portrait, though it may not seem so at first. The hat is because I didn't shower this morning and the hair was not suitable for public viewing. The Red Sox regalia is not because I'm a die hard fan or an Irish one at that, but rather because I lived in Boston and my daddy took me to a baseball game at Fenway once and he gifted me with it. The coffee cup in front of my face is not because I'm all that shy but because this pregnancy has given me the acne of a 13 year old and I'm hiding all my chin zits. PREGNANT GLOW, MY ARSE. THAT IS FICTION. The Panera cup is because we had a beautiful stroll this morning with the dog and I convinced my husband that I had to have a bagel or I'd just die, and while I was buying the bagel I splurged and got a hazelnut coffee even though I have a perfectly good coffee maker at home. It drives him crazy when I do this because he knows when I say "I need a Panera bagel" it means "I need a Panera bagel, a coffee, and anything else that strikes my fancy while I'm standing at the register and you are outside with the dog, unable to prevent my impulse purchasing."

So there you go.
